"Energy audits help identify opportunities to reduce consumption, increase savings and diminish your carbon footprint."
GreenBridge Energy Audits: Delivering Short- and Long-Term Benefits
GreenBridge Energy's team of professional consultants utilizes the latest energy audit technologies to analyze and implement a comprehensive energy conservation program in order to achieve both a short-term return on investment and sustainable long-term improvements to efficiency and reliability. The ultimate objectives are a reduction in energy consumption, economic savings, and a diminished carbon footprint.
GreenBridge Energy's energy conservation process includes the following primary elements:
Development of an Energy Profile: An energy profile provides the basic building block of information needed to begin to evaluate a facility's potential for energy savings. This information also helps to determine baseline energy performance and can be used to benchmark a building's performance against comparable buildings.
Unbiased Energy Audit and Building Performance Diagnosis: Using the latest diagnostic technologies, GreenBridge Energy conducts an independent energy analysis that combines utility bill and meter information, building background data (i.e., building size, use type, construction, etc.), along with real-time sensor data (e.g., temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide, light, and current draw) to build and calibrate an energy model for each building. GreenBridge Energy also utilizes sub-metering on large systems in order to identify performance improvements and guide preventative maintenance plans.
Energy Conservation Plan with Recommendations: Information from the audit is evaluated to identify a broad range of possible energy conservation measures, which may include improvements to the control of temperature, humidity, lighting, ventilation, equipment efficiency, etc. Next, we are able to calculate the savings from the proposed energy conservation measures in order to develop a conservation plan of action. GreenBridge Energy works with each client to prioritize recommendations and identify immediate opportunities to reduce utility costs and improve efficiencies, starting with low and no-cost improvements.
Independent Advising for Conservation Improvements: We are able to coordinate the process with on-site facility management staff in order to make independent recommendations for suppliers and service technicians. If outsourcing for more expansive upgrades to controls or systems is needed, GreenBridge Energy can assist as an independent advisor by bidding out the specified work on behalf of the client. GreenBridge Energy is able to help identify the highest quality systems and cost tradeoffs from the provider sources in each given area.
Realize Financial Incentives: In addition to savings realized through an energy conservation program, facilities often have an opportunity to qualify for federal, state and/or local tax incentives, carbon offset programs, renewable energy certificates (RECs), and reimbursements from utility providers. GreenBridge Energy provides the necessary verification and identifies the incentive programs so the maximum amount of economic gains are realized by the client.
Energy Education and Training Programs: Training and education of all generations of users are vital for the implementation of a true energy conservation program. GreenBridge Energy is able to provide workshops and programs to target a broad audience; e.g., K-12 students, college students, faculty, administrators, and facility management staff. The subject matter also may be incorporated into the classroom or academic curriculum, from environmental studies and engineering to business and economics.
A Word about Behavior Change and Education ... This entire endeavor - from making energy conservation an institutional priority to bringing renewable energy systems onto campus - provides a goldmine of possibilities for teaching and learning. Perhaps the most important opportunity is to insure that behaviors support - and enhance - the conservation and clean energy programs being implemented.
Each year millions of U.S. students learn about energy conservation and environmental responsibility. However, their behaviors are often contrary to the goals of these programs. GreenBridge Energy is committed to bringing about a "culture of conservation" among students, faculty and staff through our educational and training programs. By doing so, schools are able to realize even greater emissions reductions and energy savings today, in addition to developing conscientious practices that will positively impact our broader society well into the future.
